This is an antique collar that is hand made of black lace, most likely worn during the Victorian era.  Could have been worn when in mourning but not necessarily as black was fashionable at the time.   I am not a lace expert, but I believe that the lace is a bobbin lace, perhaps Belgian. It is quite intricate and incorporates floral motifs in the pattern. It measures 9” in height at the center point, 25” across at its widest while laid out flat, 17 1/2” in depth at its highest while laid out flat, and about 35” around the bottom from the widest points of the piece.

It is in very good condition with no signs of wear.
